Overview For The Cosmic Connection: Beyond the Brain


  1. "The new millennium was ushered in by a dramatic technological revolution. We now live in an increasingly diverse, globalized, and complex, media-driven society. According to Dr. Douglas Kellner at UCLA this technological revolution will have a greater impact on society than the transition from an oral to a print culture.” (from  21st Century Schools website)

    If Dr. Kellner is correct in respect to education – (and I believe he is), then I believe this is and will continue to impact the 21st century church.

    The Cosmic Connection:Beyond the Brain will provide insight in the following areas:
 
  1. Reshaping the Perspective for Being
 
  Remaining Relevant or Becoming A Relic  
 
  1. Refocusing the Purpose for Ministry
 
  Since people are living longer --  
a.
Keeping connected to the remaining “Greatest Generation”, “The Baby Boomers”, and the “MTV Generation."
b.
 Connecting to the “Tech Generation” and the “Millennials” who all will be age 9 by December 31, 2009.
 
 
  • Connect to them
  • Assimilate them into the church
  • Equip them to meet the needs of their generation
     

  1. Rekindling a Power for Service – The Holy Spirit expressing His (agape) love through the extended hands of His church reaching out to meet the needs of people.  LOVE IN ACTION.
