MY FATHER'S ANCESTRY dates back to Isaac Watts. In the 19th century, my great-grandparents, living in Canada became Wesleyan Methodists.  Many of their children went into Christian ministry. Their daugher Leila married Daniel Summers and they had two minister sons, Lyle Summers and Mervyn Summers. Mervyn Summers has a son, Allan who is a minister in Canada,

My grandfather, Edgar was a minister and his sons Ivan, Alton, and my dad (Earl), were ministers. Edgar’s daughter Marie, married a minister. Her son Timothy is a minister.  Ivan’s daugher married a minister and she has two sons that became ministers and a daughter that became a missionary. Earl and Anna had two sons. Ron became a UMC minister and District Superintendent. Wellington served in Christian education for many years. The chart below shows the members of the Watts family that became active in Christian ministry with the largest percentage serving in pastoral ministry.
